When creating it, I wanted to capture memories in a perfume. At the same time, it was important to me to incorporate an imaginative side into the composition. My father lived and traveled through Africa for over ten years. I read his notes and was inspired by his travels on cargo ships and his encounters with very different people... It was as if I was traveling through Africa with the words of another person. And that's exactly what I tried to capture in Bal d'Afrique. The fragrance is not only a fantasy journey, but also a homage to African cultures and their influence. With Bal d'Afrique, a fragrance full of beauty and creative freedom, Ben Gorham pays special tribute to the African continent. This olfactory composition underscores Africa's reach and influence throughout history—particularly its myriad cultures, which have significantly shaped dance, art, and music. A fragrance like a tribute to an imaginary festival.
